November 5th, 2008 by Leslie
This Friday-Sunday, during 'Ward Center's Annual Festival of Giving,' charities and stores are selling tickets for $10. These tickets provides discounts at most vendors in the Ward complexes. For a list of participating stores and restaurants, please go to  http://www.wardcenters.com/Events/2006/festofgiving08.html
For every ticket bought at alliway, a jewelry store in Ward Wardhouse, all proceeds will go to the Hawaii Dog Foundation. So far, alliway has sold about 50 tickets but would like to help even more.

Artist and owner, Alli Kim-Czerniak, is passionate about animal causes. When asked why she designated the Hawaii Dog Foundation to benefit from this annual event, she said, "They are a no-kill shelter and not only do they foster and take in homeless dogs, they also educate the public about the spaying and neutering. That's important. They screen potential dog owners by visiting their home and even do a six-month follow up visit to make sure the dog is happy."Â
The Hawaii Dog Foundation's work goes beyond adopting dogs. "They go out to Waianae to pick up strays.  There are so many homeless [people] out there and they aren't educated in the spaying and neutering. The Hawaii Dog Foundation rescues puppies even if they have to pay the homeless for them. I believe in them a hundred percent."
Kim-Czerniak uses her travels to exotic locales as inspiration for her designs which are timeless, tasteful and elegant. She transforms semi-precious stones, pearls and geometric designs into stunning pieces. For more designs, visit alliway's website is www.alliway.com
Please don't forget to pick up a "Festival of Giving" ticket at alliway at Ward Warehouse by this weekend.
Thanks, Leslie
