Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton announces, at a news conference Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, in Los Angeles, the department has made two arrests and rescued 17 dogs in the breakup of a dog fighting operation. Police say the dog fighting outfit was a major player in the illegal training and breeding of animals for fighting. (AP Photo/Ric Francis)

How can anyone watch poor dogs get beaten up and think this is sport?

It is just cruel. It is left over from days of more primitive, violent societies. Some people still want to see "blood sports." Some even compare it to boxing or ultra fighting. At least those matches are stopped when someone is hurt.
