So true, isn't it?
As someone who doesn't have kids, my dog gets "mothered" by me. My childless friends also seem to do a lot of "parenting" when it comes to their pets.

when i pay zoe's trainer, i tease my friends with children that i also write out tuiton checks. (it's a lot cheaper than private school)

So true. Dogs are like kids. You have to clean up after them. They don't listen, they are nice when they want something and they like to play in the dirt. They even have kids names.

I love pets, but for me, dogs are not children. I think dogs need to have a job to feel fulfilled and to know their place in a pack. I'm not saying it is wrong to treat them as children, dogs are very adaptable and will get use to all the hugs and kisses. I just cannot do that with my dogs.

@ CatDogMan my dog has a job to sit on my lap and snuggle with me ..that is a big job you know! he has a job to greet me when I coem home..then he follows me around and guard me when I go to sleep.

@ CatDogMan my tiny dog has a job barking ...so hugging him is my reward..he is the " baby " yes my youngest and husband get jealous..they say you hug him more !

I have been married 14 years and have no plans to have children. We have a chihuahua and a min. pin. and they are the babies. One sits on my lap and the other on my husbands lap. I think my life is happier and less stressful than my friends who have children. I say its like coming home every day and spending time with your boyfriend, you have each other, you are not just mom and dad.

Too true!! Now, if I could just teach them to get their own breakfast!
