Uga VII died unexpectedly two weeks ago
December 1st, 2009 by LeslieThe famous bulldog mascot, Uga, of the University of Georgia, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 19.

Uga was only four years old and his owner, Frank "Sonny" Seiler said he died of died of heart-related causes.
A wreath was placed on his doghouse on the field at last Saturday's game.
The new Uga will not be unveiled until next year.
Rest in peace, Uga VII. You were such a cutie!

I saw this on CNN tow weeks ago. This is so sad.

this is such a sweet looking and gorgeous dog. he's a wonderful mascot. i'm glad UW has a live mascot now.. it's so much better than the fake costumey ones, don't you think?

do these types of dogs have health issues that could lead to heart problems and death? bulldogs don't exactly look like the healthiest breeds. plus, all that excitement at games and people lunging at him to touch him probably don't help.

He was a good old dog that made a lot of people happy. I hope as much can be said about me when I'm gone.
