OSPCA has new board; Saturday event
December 3rd, 2009 by LeslieThe Oahu SPCA has named Kim Fong, Sandra Hayes and Nancy Bernal to its board of directors.
The three join Stephanie Ryan and Jennifer Kishimori on the organization’s board. The Oahu SPCA’s mission is to ensure that “every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home,” says co-founder Stephanie Ryan.
The group’s Kalaeloa facility at 1142 Roosevelt Ave. in Kapolei is fully functional, caring for more than 50 dogs and 100 cats each day. They rely on volunteers and tax-deductible donations to provide for the animals.
Soon, the facility will open a low-cost spay neuter clinic to help control animal population, the best way to reduce euthanasia of Hawaii’s homeless animals.

On Saturday, the organization invites the community to take photos with Santa “Claws” and will provide tours of the new shelter from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and meet animals that need a good home.
Their mailing address is P.O. Box 2332, Ewa Beach, HI 96706. For information, call 753-7060.
